Replacement Fishing Boats
In cooperation with Kondo Syokai, the Rotary Clubs of Aldershot and Cochin Mid Town supplied replacement fishing boats to help those families in India who suffered losses during the Asian Tsunami.
Here is the record of this work
Following the initial cooperative effort between Kondo Syokai, the Rotary Club of Aldershot and members of the UK Armed Services on Ex Shrivenham Da Gama, a matching grant was applied for from Rotary Foundation for additional replacement fishing vessels. It is with great pride we are able to announce that Matching Grant #58170 was approved and confirmed on the 15th November. The grant is awarded to the Rotary Clubs of Aldershot (UK) and Cochin Mid Town (India) and means that many more families who have lost their livelihood can now be given a helping hand back to economic independance by being supplied with fishing vessels to replace those lost during the Tsunami.
We applaud the efforts of Presidents Geoff Clark and George Korah in securing this grant.
